The Weekend Pointers- Lighten and Brighten your skin in a month!

Occasionally I've been posting about the tips and tricks for skincare as well as hair care which have been loved by all. Due to this positive response over the years I finally decided to come up with a regular series concerning some effective pointers on various subjects, such as skincare, hair care, fashion tips etc.

I'll try my best to be regular enough in posting one part every weekend- The Weekend Pointers, so welcome to the first part of this series! 

Today I'll be dealing with one of the very basic requirements of all- fairer and brighter skin.  Even when there is nothing, absolutely nothing wrong with darker skin tones, people in India seem to be obsessed with fairer skin shades. In a bid to achieve this, they are easily trapped by various local and international brands selling creams and other stuff that falsely claim to "whiten" the skin! 
Even if, one such cream  works according to its claim, remember the hustle and bustle of chemicals these creams might be causing in the inner layers of your skin! 

Therefore, I decided to come up with a few home remedies that will help you get the natural glow and colour without any chemical harm.

Summers in India can be really ruthless, so the most basic step is to protect your skin from UV-damage. 
Most of the normal darkening and discoloration of your skin is caused by exposure to the sun's ultraviolet (UV) rays. If you're extremely concerned about having fairer skin, staying indoors will keep your skin as light as possible. When that's not possible, protect your skin using SPF sunblock with a minimum SPF of 20-30.

Clean your face with a mild face wash or besan ( gram flour) and wash your hand before starting.

Cucumber Magic

 Grate some cucumber slices and squeeze out the juice in a bowl.
Take one table spoon of raw milk and mix it with the cucumber juice.
Now take a cotton ball and dip it into the mixture. 
Apply it all over your face with the cotton ball and spread it thinly( You can apply on your eye area too)
Leave it for 20 minutes, rinse it with raw milk or normal fresh water.

Cucumber juice has a mild bleaching property which helps in reversing the effect of sun tanning. It, therefore, helps you to get back your natural skin colour with a brighter glow!

Tomato Power

Take some tomatoes and mash them into a pulp. 

Add some oatmeal and two tablespoons of curd.
Apply this mixture evenly on your face and neck and leave it for about 5-10 minutes.
Wash it off with fresh water.

This mixture helps to remove suntan and bring out the radiant side of your skin! Tomato is a natural antioxidant and apart from brightening up the skin, it also acts to clean the pores without any harm! 

These are two of the best proven home remedies to lighten and brighten your skin! Follow them religiously for a month and you'll notice an unbelievable difference in your skin!
