Maybelline New York Fit Me Set + Smooth Pressed Powder “130 Buff Beige” Review, Swatch and Price
Wishing everyone a very Happy & safe Holi! The recently launched Fit Me! range by Maybelline NY has been a big hit in the Indian market thanks to its affordable price & great quality.
The range has foundation, pressed powders, concealer, blush and bronzer, all the products that you need for the face. The number of your foundation corresponds with the number on the pressed powder, and concealer and they have 18shades.
I found the Matte + Poreless Foundation very impressive and I’m going to use it more often in summers when my skin becomes slightly oily. Today I’m going to share my views on the second product of this range- Maybelline NY Fit Me! Set+Smooth Pressed Powder.
What company says..
Maybelline NY Fit Me! Set+Smooth Pressed Powder comes in five shades in India. The shades are known as 120 Classic Ivory, 130 Buff Beige, 220 Natural Beige, 230 Natural Buff, 310 Sun Beige.
The international counterpart of the Fit Me powders have 18 shades so just 5 shades in India is a bit disappointing.
In the mirror of my own experience
Maybelline NY Fit Me! Set+Smooth Pressed Powder comes in a black square compact case. The case has a flip top lid and divided into two separate compartments, first has the pressed powder and the second for a round soft puff & mirror. The packaging is cute & classy but not for very convenient as the mirror is at the back so you have to constantly flip it to use which I don’t like.
I found the 130 Buff Beige quite close to my skin tone. The texture is very fine and smooth, that even you can dust under your eyes to set the concealer. It doesn’t look powdery on the face even when applied heavily all over the face. The powder sinks naturally into my skin and feels so light weight that I love. It gives slight sheen effect to the skin. The powder is sheer and has little coverage. It feels light and sets the foundation and the moisturiser perfectly. It doesn’t give any coverage really, but that’s because it’s simply meant for setting your foundation/concealer. Don’t buy this if you’re looking for an actual powder foundation! but as a setting powder, it is very impressive especially for normal/dry skin ladies like myself.
I apply it with a large brush after applying the foundation and concealer. It gives a luminous, healthy and creamy effect to the skin. If you have combination skin, you shouldn’t apply it on your T-zone area. Apply it on your cheeks and neck, it’s not for oily skin ladies as the product mentions, clearly.
Coming to the lasting power, I find it quite long lasting. It lasts for about 6 hours without a touchup. I’ll have to test its effect in summer/monsoons.
Very smooth and lightweight on the skin
Gives a healthy and polished effect
Sets my makeup without making the skin look flat.
Reasonable in price
Didn’t break me out
The packaging is not very convenient for travelling as the mirror is at the back so you have to constantly flip it to use
Only 5 shades available
Overall I’m totally impressed with this pressed powder. It sets makeup without making your skin look flat. I like this powder as it gives a polished and healthy look even when I wear it alone. It gives very little coverage but that is expected from a pressed powder. There are not much-pressed powders available in the Indian market that is ideal for dry skin so it’ll be a perfect choice for dry skin beauties. I’ll highly recommend it to those who want a setting powder that sets your makeup perfectly and gives a healthy sheen effect to your makeup. I’ll not recommend it to oily and combination skin ladies and those who want some coverage and dislike the sheer effect in their pressed powder.
