How to wear palazzo pants at home
Palazzo pants have been a hot trend this year. I have said quite a lot about it in the past. You have seen me style these pants in various ways, in my previous outfit posts.
Palazzos are originally a 70’s trend but it is worn in different styles these days. You can wear it in both Asian and western ways. It is available in versatile designs, colors and designs plain and printed; in today’s post I want to focus on a casual printed palazzo.
There is an interesting story with this simple and casual pair of palazzo pants. This summer, my sisters paid a visit to Dehradun. I guess I’ve already talked about that. During that visit, one fine evening when we are chatting over a cup of tea, the topic of our conversation turned to fashion and then the in – trend palazzos. They are all a fan of these kind of bottoms. One of them suggested that we can stitch it ourselves at home. That was an interesting and exciting idea! Luckily I had a piece of motifs and patterns printed fabric that I had bought just for its lovely print. But at that time I had no idea in my mind what to make out of it. We decided to made it a palazzo at home. For that, we took a stitched palazzo, took measurement and then cut the fabric. We folded the fabric in half then laid down the stitched palazzo with the long edge along the fold. Then cut around the stitched palazzo and then repeated the same step for second piece.
We laid down the two pieces and added those carefully and then stitched them. We all were excited to see the result. We prepared it within two hours. We used elastic for the waistband.
When I wore it for trial, oh I was amazed to see the result. It was great in fitting and looked like a professionally tailored piece. We all were pleased to see that! We decided to buy more fabrics to do it more. I love wearing it at home because these are wonderfully comfortable.
You can do it yourself
It is really easy to do it yourself. You need just 3 m of fabric for a palazzo. You can buy different kinds of fabrics that are not only attractive but also light weight too. For summers, printed fabrics like geometric prints, leopard print, strips print and floral prints will be best. I made some more palazzo pants after that, of different styles. I have bought some warm fabric for making some for winters.
Wear it at home
Palazzos are best for wearing at home. They are wide legged, breezy and very comfy. These days they are my first choice of wearing at home. I can do my household works easily with this attire. They feel so light weight that I love. The best part of these that they are easy to maintain.
Can be worn for shopping
With a casual palazzo pants, you can go to market to shop groceries etc. If you are in hurry and don’t want to do much with your look, just wear a matching top on it. You can go to a contrast one too. A denim shirt with a knot will make you look really stylish. Wear your glasses, put some tinted lip balms on the lips, wear a low heel shoes and you are done. Take your purse and you’re ready to go to anywhere.
Use it as a night pajama or trouser
May I share a secret with you? I wear palazzo as a night pajama in bed and trust me it’s wonderful. You can wear your own stitched palazzo for sleeping. You can choose your favourite fabrics for it which you feel are comfortable. For me, a cotton, Lenin and polyester fabrics are best for night. Put a loose blouse, crop top or camisole with it.
Coming to my outfit
I wore that self stitched palazzo with a red top. I finished this look with a pair of red low heels and a small pocket purse. I kept this look very simple and casual.
