An evening and that walk
In the evening looking at the reddish blue sky always evokes some strange feelings in me. Sometimes I feel so relaxed and calm but on the other hand, it makes me melancholic. Walking while the sun sett has been my old hobby since my childhood. When I was a child, we lived in a joint family in a small town with our grandparents. My grandparent’s house was very large that called Badi Haveli (big villa). There were lots of rooms, verandas and gardens.
We had two large roofs on our house. The top roof of our house had quite a low boundary so we children were not allowed to go alone there. But I loved that place and sometimes I sneaked up there, especially in the evening when the sun was about to go on its way. The view of the sky seemed so dreamy. Blue shadows were all over in the sky. The light of the day was still there but the darkness of the evening was eager to engulf it. I felt it clearly because for a while it seemed as the darkness has diminished but the next moment, it was dark and darker. Sometimes when darkness conquers the light, the heart starts to tremble and feel very heavy.
One day when I told my grandmother that how good it feels on the terrace at this time, she got very angry and scolded me for venturing there. She told me at that time negative energy was all around and especially girls with open hair should not go upstairs. At first, I didn’t believe it and I asked my grandmother that why only at this time it all happens. I got very surprised when she told me that just like the birds who return home at sunset similarly the negative energy or dark shadows go out on theirs.
I laughed at this innocent argument. I didn’t believe in these things but I did enjoy such kinds of talk. I still remember how we (me, my siblings and my cousins) used to talk about supernatural energies in chilled winter nights with tea and roasted peanuts. We used to get scared sometimes but still enjoyed this topic. Anyways coming back to the topic, I meant to say that I never left walking during sunset. I used to go upstairs to save myself from her eyes. I loved this hobby and I do it even today.
The unsolved mystery of the shadow
That was a strange thing that happened to me after several years of the conversation with my grandmother.
It was the time of my first arrival days of Dehradun. I loved walking on the terrace and especially in evening. So that evening, as my daily routine I went to the terrace for walking. The sun was going to sink into the darkness of night and I loved the crimson red sky while walking. The silence of the sky heaved up my heart which felt very lonely.
While walking time passed so fast that when I looked up next in the sky it was dark. I was going downstairs when suddenly I felt something behind me so I turned around and saw a gigantic shadow in the sky. At first, I got stunned on seeing that but when I came to my senses shivers were running my back. I backed few steps and then ran downstairs. The next day I told it to my husband, he was confused and it seemed he wanted to believe but was unable to do it. Finally, he just told me not to go on the terrace at that time. To be honest I was not afraid because after two days I again resumed my walking. I never felt such things ever again. But at that time and today also when I think about that incident I can’t give the logic of that humongous shadow, it still remains a mystery to me.
If I tell the truth, I’m not a strong believer in supernatural energies and believe in God. I think all these things depend on our mood. Sometimes our inside’s feelings and emotions are responsible for such type of situations. When you are happy from your heart, all weathers and views seem good. At the same time when you are restless, everything seems dark and dull.
Coming to my outfit:
Blue is one of my favourite colour. In this outfit, I paired two different blue colours together. I have paired a lighter shade of blue with a darker shade of blue. I love this light blue coloured blouse, and you have seen me wearing it before. Can be seen here. I wore it with a pair of dark denim jeans. I completed my look with a black backpack bag, red heels and accessorized with blue earrings, necklace and sunglasses.
