It’s the Little Things that Count Most…(How to Find Happiness in the Little Things)

How to Find Happiness in the Little Things

Sometimes you find life flowing in its slow pace devoid of any excitement. The daily routine, responsibilities, hectic schedule of the day and sometimes your own health makes you feel low. In this condition you don’t enjoy those small moments of your life that can give you energy and boost you up for the days to come.
Yes, that’s exactly what was happening with me at my birthday. I was feeling unwell, feeling melancholy and sad. I was not in a mood to do anything or celebrate my birthday. My husband was in Delhi for his monthly check up. Me and my son were alone at home. I have no close friends or relatives in my town. So there was no one to insist me to do something. I got beautiful wishes from my family, sisters and parents. I also got a lot of messages from my FB, Twitter and Instagram friends. A number of mails came in my inbox that was sent by my lovely readers. But still there was something missing in me that could push me to celebrate that day. I had planned to take rest and sleep.

I had prepared chicken and egg noodles in lunch that made my son very happy. He is crazy of different types of noodles. After having lunch I was going to do what I decided to do but suddenly my door bell rang loudly. Oh who the hell is this..I were annoyed and then we both went to our main door to check who it was. There was a courier man. I thought he would deliver samples for review but man..He was not, what he delivered –simply made my day.

I received a box of cake, a bouquet of lovely roses,a candle and a card. These were sent by my naughty sisters. We came inside with these was one of the sweetest surprises it ever got. A few minutes passed when I received some pizzas, mousse from Domino’s. These were also sent by the naughty trio.

I was smiling, really felt emotional then I got a call from Farkhi ( my second and the smartest sister) who was requesting me to cut the cake. I thanked her and promised to do it but she didn’t want me to cut it simply. She insisted me to change the clothes, do some makeup and send some pictures and a video of this celebration. I couldn’t refuse her and really celebrated my birthday.

I dressed up, did make-up and then cut the cake. My son sang the birthday song for me. He was so excited and happy. His happiness was making me thrilled. We laughed, enjoyed delicious pizza and cake, clicked pictures, took selfies and made some crazy videos.
Ohh, that was fun, thrill and pleasure. My sisters were eagerly waiting for the pictures and videos. We have a group on WhatsApp called ‘Just Us’ where we always share our little joy and sorrow, pain and pleasure, craziness and madness…
‌I sent the pictures and videos there and they really enjoyed. I thanked them for giving me a memorable day. Honestly speaking, I learned a new lesson with these things. I realised that happiness never travels to you rather you have create your own happy moments. We have to steal our share of happiness from life. My sisters taught me how to grab pleasure even from miserable moments. As Joel Osteen says ‘ Happiness is always a choice. You can’t wait for circumstances to get better. You have to create your own good fortune’.

So look for ways to be happy every day and live everyday in a way you would not regret it, even if you knew that it was your last on earth. Drink life to the last drop.

How to Find Happiness in the Little Things I also want to say ‘Thanks’ to my lovely friends on social media. Thank you friends for making my day special πŸ™‚
