Ways To Make Your Bed Rest Entertaining
Last week was quite terrible for me. Sometimes such unfortunate things happen which you don’t even think about. That was a normal day. I had finished my work and took a small break for watching television. I was just watching the news with my son. Suddenly we both got bored and decided to go outside the house and play in the garden. I stood up and strode quickly to go into the garden but suddenly slipped on the floor near the stairs and fell badly. The injury was quite bad. I had to go to the doctor, pass through some tests, X-ray. Thanks to that Almighty, there was nothing critical. I was prescribed a full bed rest. When you are fine and fit, you don’t get enough time to rest, you just always think to take a break from all the work for sometimes but mostly we aren’t able to do it. My life has been extremely busy for last few months. To save myself from negativity, I have made my daily routine in such a way that keeps me busy all the time.
You really feel bad when you find yourself incapable of doing anything. Lying down on the bed for 24 hours is a difficult task when you don’t have a habit of it. It becomes more frustrating when you are in pain.
First, two days were extremely boring and dull but after that, I decided to do something which could refresh my mind and make somehow these boring days entertaining.
Yes, these were the things that I did and I’m glad that they made those wearisome days engaging.
Being on bed rest limits my ability to do a lot of things, like being active in general made me sad and frustrated because there was not much I could do while on bed rest. I was unable to write properly, as my both hands were bruised. The first thing that always works for me when I get bored is reading a book. These days due to my busy schedule of blogging and other things, I didn’t get enough time to read for a long time so the first thing I did was using my old hobby. I love reading books since my childhood. I was often called a bookworm due to this hobby. I have a good collection of books at home. I read Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier and got lost for hours in that book. I’m just going to finish it. I really enjoyed reading after a long time. Now I have decided to read more often.
Listened to my favourite songs
Whenever I got tired after reading, listening to my favourite songs was a great option. Those soft and beautiful songs soothed my mind and made me calm and fresh. Music has a tremendous power to capture your mind and fill it with positivity.
When I found my pain in some control, I thought why should not I spend some time to watch some quality movies. Now in the days of new technologies, it’s so easy to download your desired movies and enjoy. I love watching art films so it was a nice experience to watch such movies, I wanted to watch for a long time.
Had some fun
I know you are going to laugh at this revelation of mine that I have been loving watching cartoons like Shinchan and Peppa The Pig these days :). Now I realize why my son and daughter are still crazy about these programs. They are not only pleasurable and delightful but also very fascinating and interesting. I really feel light whenever I watch these programs. Another advantage of these is my love for these programs make my son happy… hahaha.
Spend time with my family
I always prefer to give most of my time to my family. I never neglect them even with my extremely busy schedule of blogging. But still, you can’t do it every time. During my injury, I spent a lot of time with my family and you can understand what it means. I got the strength to recover from my injuries.
Called my long distance relatives and friends
Another thing which I did was to call to some friends and cousins who live another cities and countries. We rarely get chance to meet each other. I chatted with them and this made me feel better. It also made me think that we should get some time for our friends and relatives, doesn’t matter how much we are busy in our lives.
I also checked my mailbox and read my reader’s emails. I felt so nice to read their concerns regarding my health and their love and affection they have for me. It touched me a lot.
By all this I mean to say that these small positive steps made this tough time easier to some extent. I’m still recovering and hope will get well soon and back on track again.
Coming to my outfit:
Coming to my outfit, this one would be one of the last winter attires to be featured on the blog this year. On a cool winter afternoon, I decided to wear this knitted grey turtleneck jumper. I have been loving turtleneck jumper and pullover this winter. I have added different colours sweater and jumper in my closet this season and always found them great. You must have seen my last post wearing a green turtleneck pullover here.
It’s really an interesting fact that turtlenecks are also called as Polo Necks in UK and Skivvy in Australia. Due to the close fitting and tight collar give these sweaters a name also called a polo neck. And when you wear these sweaters the shape of them resemble that of a turtle, so it’s also called as a turtleneck.
I really love how cosy this turtleneck heathered pullover is and the length is perfect to pair with jeans, skirt or pants. I paired it with jeans and the most comfortable white sneakers I’ve ever owned!
