Ways To Know Who You Are
Most of us are under the impression that thinking about ourselves is equivalent to being selfish. But the truth is that being compassionate is not just about taking care of others but also of our own self. Often cases are observed when dedicated mothers spoil their own health just to take care of their children and family. I have seen some women who never think about themselves. Whenever they think, their priority is family members. Even when it comes to health, they keep themselves in the last category. I have seen some miserable examples of my own relatives. Being responsible and emotional is the main problem of womankind from the very beginning. Gradually, it becomes her habit and slowly, she starts to ignore herself among her responsibilities and forgets about her choices and dreams.
It is very important to find out who you are and what you want in life. And what must follow is the quest to fulfil those needs and taking care of yourself along with your other responsibilities. All this is very easy to put into words but can be rather tricky to explore and practice in actual life. However, a few pointers can prove helpful.
Surround yourself with good people
Cut out the toxic people in your life and surround yourself with those you feel good with. This is of course highly subjective for everyone but you are a better judge of yourself. The people around you influence you greatly so it is better to have such people around who can drive you towards positivity and goodness. Your company also determines the kind of person you yourself are.
Spend some time alone
We don’t realize how much others influence our personality with time. As a result, many of us remain unaware of our true selves. But spending some quality time alone can bring back what you really are and make you realize what had been missing all this while. If you discover something unique about yourself, this will fill you with a new confidence and rigour. Watch your favourite movies, listen to your favourite songs or take a short solo trip.
Analyze your actions and reactions
Sometimes all you need to do is to sit back and think what made you happy or upset at a certain point of time. This will help you realize certain aspects about yourself and your perspectives. This will also help in pointing out what all you are most sensitive about and you will know yourself better.
Maintain a Journal
Keeping a diary or journal is a good habit. Not only does it help in calming the mind, venting out emotions but is also a reflection of your personality. Looking back at those entries over the years will reveal your true self and preserve your emotions and thoughts. It is a simple and important ritual one can always follow.
Follow your dreams
In a bid to care for others around us, we often neglect our own dreams and passions. Our dreams enable us to discover ourselves and reflect our nature. Fulfilling them makes us happy and satisfied. Think about what you love to do and do it more than before.
Coming to my outfit:

I paired it with a new off-white T-shirt. This tee is light and airy with a soft fabric. I wanted to keep this look casual so finished it with a small bag, black heels and minimal makeup.
