A Visit To Gopalpur Sea Beach
I had read a lot about Gopalpur Sea Beach before I visited this beach. We stayed in Berhampur for 4 days and visited the beach every day. You can imagine how much we loved that place. Gopalpur Sea Beach is located on the East coast. It is about 160 KM’s from the Bhubaneswar, the capital of Odisha and about 10 km’s from Berhampur. This beach is peaceful and lonely on the Bay of Bengal. It mainly consists of fishermen. Few tourists visit this place which makes it even better. You can stay directly in Gopalpur also. You will get all the minimum requirements for your trip here. The song of the sea travels far and gives you a feeling of tranquillity. This place is calm and peaceful if you want to spend some time away from city life.
We used to book a cab and always visited in the evening due to the hot weather. The evenings in those areas are pleasant.
This beach gives really fantastic views of the sea to the visitors. After our first day visit, we all were crazy about that beach and just couldn’t get enough of it. The place is so peaceful and pristine. You can spend your whole night watching the beautiful sea. There is no disturbance there and the waves become bigger as the evening start to darken.
The beauty of this beach amazes everyone, it’s locales, the fishing hamlets and a massive lighthouse in the backdrop, everything is beautiful. The beach is generally sandy and is dotted by coconut palms and small mangroves. It is not overcrowded and is convenient for tourists who prefer to spend quality time in privacy. The guide told us that in olden days, there used to be sea-port used by the overseas traders which subsequently got dismantled. The news that the lighthouse is never opened for public really made me disappointed.
Nothing soothes the soul like a walk on the beach
Yes, I felt like that actually and loved every moment I spent there. The best part of this beach is that it’s peaceful and quiet. I saw a few families from outside but mostly nearby locals. The guide told us that the beach is not much friendly for a good swim. On our next visit to the beach, the weather was not so friendly either. The wind was blowing and the tides were so high. That was not a suitable time for photography, we only managed to click some pictures that day.
Rest of the two days, we visited after the evening just sitting quietly on the sand, listening to the sound of the waves. We only enjoyed the beauty of the sea and its restless waves in the darkness. I didn’t try to use my camera or mobile phone. I think I went on looking at those aggressive waves for hours. Each wave came loudly but went back silently. It seemed like there was a story hidden under every wave. They are so strong and high, whenever I went to close I felt quite strange.
As time passed, just a few people remained there. The tides were getting higher. The atmosphere felt serene. Sometimes it felt like they just wanted to pull us inside. My husband didn’t go close to the waves. He only watched us from a distance. I loved the lighthouse and I think it is the most beautiful place out there.
The place is worth seeing
I think It is a wonderful place to hang for a weekend or probably more. Whenever you feel exhausted from your work and would like to go for a break, this is the best place to recharge yourself. As I said before it’s is not that crowded like other famous beaches. You never can find peace and relax in a crowded place which looks like a fair. This beach is known for its high waves. During high tide, waves are as high as 6mts. It’s not safe for swimming but wonderful for getting some peace of mind and energy. I would love to visit this beach again and again.
Coming to my outfit:
I wore another comfy and cool outfit the next day as well. I wore a deep blue and white printed dress and paired it with a pair of blue denim jeans. Finished this look with a pair off-white sandals, a handbag, a summer hat and sunglasses. I didn’t wear accessories, just the earrings that I usually wear.
