Style Tips On How To Wear Palazzo Pants

I have been writing about wide legged pants which are commonly called palazzo pants earlier in my previous post. In today’s blog post I’m going to speak about it again but at first, I want to illustrate something more. What is palazzo and how it became so popular in the fashion world? Actually, it’s not a new thing. The idea of making palazzo is taken from the pyjama which has been a comfortable item for centuries.

Palazzo pants in India

palazzos are originally a 70’s trend but underwent evolution from time to time. They came back in fashion some years ago since then they have become the hottest trend in women’s fashion world. In India, earlier it came from the western countries but in the beginning, it was only worn in western style. It was not worn with Indian style clothing like today.

If you remember a Hindi channel was started in India some years ago called ‘Zindagi’ which had become so popular. On that channel, Pakistani dramas were broadcasted which were pleasantly welcomed by Indian viewers. Not only the dramas but the clothing that the Pakistani artists wore came in demand in Indian market very soon. The most popular item that became hot in those days was the palazzo pants which were paired with the kurta. After that, they became popular with some beautiful makeover and since then it has been in vogue and has become a fashion statement in the Indian fashion market.

What are Palazzo Pants

Palazzo pants are a pair of wide legged trousers which are flared from waist till the ankle hem. They are some kind of gharara which were worn by Begams of Nawab and princess especially in Lucknow a centuries ago. These bottom can be little tricky to style but look so elegant and stylish if dressed with the right manners. Palazzo pants are available in all kinds of fabrics from silk to chiffon and khaadi to denim. In today’s post, I was to share some tips about styling the palazzo pants with both ethnic and western style.

I love wearing palazzo pants in this way. It gives an elegant to your whole look and also a modern touch to your outfit. A front buttoned open kurti adds a boldness to your appearance. If you are thinking to wear your palazzo pants in this way, I will suggest keepingsome buttons of kurti from the lower side open.  In this way, you give not only a dash of glam to your look but a lovely comfort. Complement the look with a pair of heels and your favourite accessories.

Anarkali kurtis are an essential part of every Indian women’s closet. These days It is styled with palazzo pants beautifully. With Palazzo pants, it looks very stylish and sophisticated. If you love wearing palazzo pants with Anarkali, it is advised to play with colours. If you are wearing a light colour printed cotton Anarkali kurti, choose the darkest shade from the kurti for your palazzo pants. If you are planning a plain kurti, my advice will be to experiment by pairing with a printed palazzo. With flared anarkali kurti, straight palazzo pants will be perfect. Finish your look with a pair of pump heels or sandals. A light touch of makeup and light accessories, you are going to stand out in the crowd.

I think the last outfit is my fav because I love how the red pops out. All of these outfits are beautiful. It is a great idea to wear palazzo pants with traditional clothing. All of these outfits you have shared are really perfect. The all white one, for example, is so elegant…you look like a princess.
Palazzo pants can be a bit tricky to style, but as you have proved- it’s definitely possible. I wore palazzo pants with dresses a few times and I really liked this combo. I might try similar styles in the future…and this post is just the perfect fashion inspiration.
