Well, skincare is important throughout the year but in summer/Monsoon months it becomes even more important. Our skin first faces the hot and dry weather and after that a sweaty one. You must have noticed the changing nature of your skin these days. My skin changes its nature to combination in summer and I have to take care of it according to its nature. I got a lot of emails from my readers who want me to share my skincare routine and I promised many times to do it but couldn’t do so till now. Today I’m going to write my summer skincare routine for the first time. I will try to do it regularly because I personally love to read my fellow bloggers’ skincare routine.
There are the products that I’m using these days. I’m sharing my both day and night skincare routine.
My day skincare routine
Himalaya Fresh Start Oil Clear Face Wash Blueberry
I’m using this face wash these days and loving it. You have read its review a few days ago. I love the fruity smell of this face wash and so its gel texture. It cleans my skin perfectly and its natural beads help in lightly exfoliating the skin. I have been using Himalaya Neem Face wash earlier which is very effective for dry skin. After the summer, I will go back to that once again.
The Body Shop Vitamine E Cleanser
It’s my favourite cleanser. Don’t know how many bottles of this cleanser I have finished till now. The texture is creamy and spreads out on the skin very well. A small amount is needed to cover the whole face and neck. I apply this cleanser by massaging my face and neck gently for 2-3 minutes. I remove it with a moist cotton ball. It hydrates my skin properly. I never feel any dryness after using it. It feels so light on the skin and doesn’t feel greasy even if you use it in summer or monsoon. It’s so mild and lightweight which I love especially in summer. Read the review of this cleanser here.
O3+ Hydrating Moisture Tonic
I have been using this moisture tonic these days. This toner is especially for the dry skin people. It’s mild and has a pleasant smell. I take some drops of the toner in a cotton wool and dab it on all over my face and neck. It leaves a moisturizing layer on the skin. It feels slightly sticky but it doesn’t bother with my dry skin. I use it after cleansing my face. You can read a detailed review of this toner here.
The Body Shop Japanese Matcha Tea Pollution Clearing Mask
I use this scrub cum mask once a week. Sometimes when the weather is much sweaty I use it twice a week too. I apply it on damp skin and massage it gently and keep it for 15 minutes when the mask turns from green to fairly transparent. After that, I repeat the same process with warm water this time round to help exfoliate. After washing my face, I apply a cotton cloth dipped in icy water to minimize the appearance of pores. It’s a great exfoliator and works as a face mask too. I have reviewed this product in detail here.
Skeyndor Aquatherm Thermal Concentrate
I used this thermal water when I find my skin a bit dull and tired. I especially love to spraying in this sweaty weather. I spray the water all over my face and neck and pat it with my fingers. It feels so refreshing and soothing. I also use it to seal my makeup or spritzed on throughout the day to soothe skin or freshen up.
Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion
I have been using this Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion since last year. This is the second tube and I have been using it for all the summer days. At first, I bought it in winter if you remember my winter skincare haul, but after using it I got to know it’s not for winter especially for dry skin people like me. Such kinds of skin need some more hydrating products which this is not. It’s a lightweight moisturising lotion with a bit runny texture which sinks into the skin immediately. It hydrates the skin but doesn’t leave any shiny effect on the skin. I found it great for summer. I could write a detailed review of this product & will do it very soon so stay tuned.
Biotique BXL Cellular Whitening Cream
I have used this cream for just about a few days. Actually, I bought it recently to keep coming winter in my mind. It has a thick texture and will be perfect for cold days. It hydrates the skin perfectly so it’s not a part of my skincare routine these days but surely will be in coming days.
Lotus Herbals 3-In-1 Matte Look Daily Sunblock SPF 40 PA+++
This is a favourite brand when it comes to sunscreen. I was using Lotus Herbals Safe Sun Whitening+ Active Tan Prevention Creme SPF 50 PA+++ but this time I tried this one for getting a matte effect. I apply it in the morning after cleansing and toning. As I apply it to the skin, it starts getting absorbed. Within 2 minutes it sets into the perfect matte. If you have oily or combination skin you do not need any moisturizer over this but I always apply my moisturising lotion over it. It’s a safe and effective sunscreen. Will write a review soon.
These are the products I used in my daily skincare routine in the morning and totally satisfy with the result. Now coming to my night skincare routine.
My night skincare routine
The Body Shop Vitamine E Cleanser
After brushing my teeth and washing my face, I start my night skincare regime. Apply the cleanser (again The Body Shop Vit-E Cleanser) all over my face and neck and wipe out with a damp cotton wool properly. This cleanser not only cleans the skin well but also hydrate it nicely and I think it’s great for night.
Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate
I apply this serum after a few minutes of cleansing my skin. I took 3-4 drops of serum by its dropper on my palm, rub it between them and apply by patting it on my face and neck. The serum gets absorbed into the skin well and leaves it smooth and silky. I love the effect of this serum which I get every morning after waking up. I have been using this serum for about 2 years and this one is my third bottle. You can read my detailed review Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate here
Olay Regenerist Advanced Anti-Ageing Revitalizing Night Skin Cream
After a few minutes of applying the serum, I apply my night cream. This one is another product I bought recently. I have been using The Body Shop Vitamin E night cream and totally loved that but still, I bought it just for a change. Well, I’m not a person who keeps experimenting with their skincare products but as I had read a lot of nice things about this night cream so I thought to try once. It has a very nice rich texture and moisturised my skin beautifully. I have been using this cream for about two weeks and satisfied with the result I got till now. I will write the review very soon.
Clinique Pep-Start Eye Cream
Finally, I apply my eye cream. Clinique Pep-Start Eye Cream is one of my favourite eye cream. I’m using it since two years and love it. It has a nice applicator which helps to massage the eye area though I don’t use it often. I love applying the eye cream with my own fingers tips. This is a nice rich cream that absorbs easily under eyes and leaves them very nicely hydrated. It also works very well under concealer and other makeup and supplies quite a good deal of moisture to the area without being greasy or shiny. Will write the review very soon.
So these are the products I’m currently using. I think the post has become quite lengthy. While you go through the list, please keep in mind that I have dry skin so these products are chosen to tend the needs of that skin type. Some of the main problems my skin has been thin wrinkles and fine lines, open pores and puffiness under my eye area. Thankfully all problems are in control and I’m satisfied with my selection of products.
I would love to know about your summer skincare routine and the products you all are using these days.
