It seems this year the summer has been so long. There is still no possibility of a fall in the coming days. During summer, especially in the monsoon doing makeup is the last thing I will want to do. But yes, a pressed powder is an essential thing which I always keep in my bag. Honestly speaking, it’s the saviour product during travelling. I am talking about my Mac Select Sheer Pressed Powder which I have been using since last year. I got this powder as a gift from my brother in law. Today I will talk about this pressed powder so let me write some initial information about this product first.

In the mirror of my own experience
The powder comes in a round sleek black compact case. The case is housed in a black outer case. You get a wide mirror and a suede finish sponge applicator inside the case. The packaging is good and safe for travelling. I have travelled with this powder in my makeup pouch and it’s safe. The applicator is nice to use though I prefer a brush instead of the applicator.
Coming to the most important part of a pressed powder which is no doubt its shade which should be closest to your skin tone. Unfortunately, I didn’t get that, I got NC30 which quite close to my hand’s skin tone but slightly darker than my face’s skin. I think I’m closer to NC20 and this pressed powder gives my pale skin tone a slightly darker shade which I love. Yes, I love the tone it provides to my skin and makes my face a bit thinner. Another advantage of wearing this shade is that it conceals my tiny brownish spots and makes it flawless. I use it over the foundation with a very light hand because of the shade difference. I love using it alone as well!
The powder is finely milled and the texture is really silky and smooth. The formula is soft and blends into the skin beautifully. It’s not too powdery and my skin transforms it well into the application. It feels very light on the skin. It covers light brown spots and minor blemishes but it offers light coverage. I apply the powder just after applying a light moisturizer without any primer. Mostly I prefer to use a large powder brush for applying the powder but use the puff while travelling. It mattifies the shining of the moisturizer and foundation. It never feels dry and cakey.
It spreads on the skin flawlessly and provides a silky film to my skin. I can dust it under the eyes to set the concealer too. I really love how it sets my foundation and provides a perfectly smooth finish to my skin. I can compare this powder with RBR Evanescence Imperceptible Powder. Though it doesn’t have the same magical effect as the RBR powder still, it gives a velvety finish and softens the appearance of pores and blemishes. It never makes my skin dry even after multiple touch-ups. It keeps my face oil free for about 4-5 hours on normal days and even in extremely sweaty weather, it works for about 2-3 hours which is great.

Great for multiple touch-ups
Overall it’s one of my favourite pressed powders. It’s superb with soft and silky texture, super blendable powder and a beautiful matte finish. It’s great for all skin types. I love its light coverage and how it feels on the skin like my second skin. It never feels heavy and dry on the skin. I wish I could get it similar to my skin tone but anyway, I will keep it in mind during my next purchase because Mac has a wide range of shades. I’m sure I will get my right shade. The best part of this powder is that despite multiple touch-ups, it doesn’t cake up and always gives a smooth finish to the skin. It’s impressive for using alone and setting the foundation. Yes, a must have product, especially for summers. I will highly recommend it to everyone but also suggest you choose your shade carefully.
The product was gifted but I think the price is in between INR 2000-2500
