How to care your skin in winter

December and January, the coldest months of the winter. In Dehradun, we enjoy warm sunlight during the day time but get shiver after sunset. The temperature falls suddenly in the evening and we face bone-chilling cold in the night. Sitting in front of heater and blowers, drinking copious amount of tea and layering up with loads of warm clothes you can imagine how we have to deal with the weather. There are a lot of things which are pleasant in this season like hot chocolate, enjoying in front of the fire, new coat, boots and all new fashion experiment for the fashion blogger but there are some drawbacks too. Winter swallows all of that beautiful dewiness right on up out of your skin. For my skin, I’m using some specific products that are not only helping my skin to keep away from all problems of this weather but also keep it healthy, soft and supple. I’m using some remarkable products from Kosmea every night. If you are a regular reader of Chamber Of Beauty, you must remember the reviews I had written about Kosmea skincare products before but if you are a new reader, you can check all details about this brand in my previous posts here.  In this post, I’m talking about my daily night routine with these products with all the details, goods, bads the final views etc.  I think it’ll be helpful for those who are looking for some notable products for their night skin treatment.

My Night Skincare products

First of all, let me mention what products I’m using for my night skin treatment:

My Night Skincare Treatment With Kosmea Skincare

The products are:

Kosmea Purifying Cream Cleanser

Kosmea Rosehip Oil

Kosmea Revive Illuminating Essence

Kosmea Nourishing Treatment Cream

These are four products which are the tools of my daily night skin treatment these days.

Kosmea Purifying Cream Cleanser

A cream cleanser is must have for all skin types in winter but for the dry skin people, it should be rich and hydrating also. Kosmea  Purifying Cream Cleanser is such cleanser I was looking for. It comes in a neat and attractive white and blue tube packaging. The tube, safely housed in a blue and white outer box which has all important information regarding the product.

The cleanser is white in colour and creamy in texture. The consistency is not too thick and it spread well on the skin without any effort. I need a medium amount of the product on my dry skin and apply after washing my face. I cleanse it after a 1-2 min quick massage. It removes all the makeup, impurities and dirt from the skin and leaves it soft and silky. In winter the dryness and roughness of the skin is the biggest issue, it’s really nice if you start your skin care routine with such a product that not only cleanses your skin but also makes it soft and hydrated.

The cleanser contains certified organic Rosehip Oil, essential fatty acids, antioxidants and vitamins. It also contains avocado oil to help penetrate deep into the pores and pump them full of vitamins A, B and D. To tone and balance, witch hazel acts as a natural astringent. The best part of this cleanser is that it doesn’t have harmful chemicals and contains all natural ingredients.

Kosmea Rosehip Oil

This is the total must have product not only for winter but all the seasons. I have been using it and have raved about Kosmea Rosehip Oil in this post and undoubtedly it’s my all time favourite. After cleansing, I pop a few drops into my palm, rub my hands together to warm and then gently pat and press it into my face, neck and decolletage. You can read my review to know how it works on my skin. In short, I can say that it does wonder on the skin in every way. It’s absolutely like a multivitamin for the skin, enriched with antioxidants and fatty acids that renovates your complexion, soothes dry and patchy skin, works effectively on the wrinkles and fine lines. I have tested its long term use so can say that clearly.

What should I say, just in short that if availability is not an issue in India,(totally fed up with all taxes that our government takes is the name of GST)  I always want to buy it.

Kosmea Revive Illuminating Essence

Kosmea Revive Illuminating Essence is a facial oil actually, facial oils are great and effective in winter. It’s really an essential part of night skin treatment in this season. The packaging is similar to the rosehip oil. The bottle is made of glass and dark brown in colour. When I open the lid all I could smell is rosehip oil. The dropper which is provided with the bottle is same like rosehip oil and this makes the application very easy. The instruction says to take 2-3 drops of oil but for my skin, I need 4 drops each time. It feels so lightweight and spreads easily. It leaves a slightly oily effect on the skin but Kosmea Nourishing Treatment Cream goes on nicely on top of this oil.

I love the effect I get every morning after waking up. It works great on my skin because it definitely looks more healthy and radiant after using this product for a few weeks. I can’t say much about the brightening and lightening scars because I don’t have any. I found this very hydrating and nourishing for my skin which was getting very dehydrated from heating and cold winter air. But still, if I have to choose one between the two oils, undoubtedly my choice will be the rosehip oil. If you are looking for a good facial oil for winter, you can definitely try it out.

Kosmea Nourishing Treatment Cream

This Nourishing Treatment Cream is the final part of my night skin regime. I use this cream after using the facial oil my eye cream. The packaging is similar to their other creams like Kosmea Replenishing Moisture Cream and cleanser. Comes in a white and pink packaging which I love.

The cream is off white in colour and has a soothing smell. The consistency is thick which is perfect to see the weather. Despite the thick texture the cream spreads on the skin well and absorbs into it without any effort. It’s so hydrating and just a small quantity is enough to cover the while face, neck and decolletage. I apply the cream by giving it some gentle stroke of massage which feels so relaxing before going to bed. The cream made my skin supple and smooth just in a week. It completely healed my dry skin in few applications. It also made it healthier and plumper. It improved my skin texture and slightly reduced the fine lines and wrinkles.

This was my actual experience with these products from Kosmea and my night skincare treatment. I’m absolutely delighted to find these jewels at the right time especially the rosehip oil and the nourishing cream. I will recommend these products for your night treatment. The cleanser, rosehip oil and the nourishing treatment cream. The Illuminating Essence is also effective but you can replace it with rosehip oil. My skin is happy in this chilly weather and I love my skin’s condition these days!

How funny we are on the same wavelength, Rakhshanda!!
I just bought some rosehip oil and have been incorporating oils into my routine more this year. I really think it helps the dryness more than anything else!
