I hope you all are safe. As we all know that the global pandemic Coronavirus scientifically known as COVID-19 has forced everyone to stay indoors throughout the world. As for in India, the government has declared a 21-day lockdown in the whole country. While there’s a lot we can’t do, staying in quarantine has given us a chance to slow down our usual fast-paced lives, sit back, reflect and indulge in certain activities that we don’t find time for otherwise. So, apart from getting bored, binge-watching Netflix or Prime, there are many things which you can do indoors to keep yourself busy.
1) Have a swim through the world of music
If you love music, you can’t find yourself unexcited or dull these days even if you are alone because music has the power to change our mood swings can be a source of entertainment and can transport us to a different world i.e world full of sadness, joyfulness and the power of getting us hyped at any moment. We can listen to our favorite music which can be a prominent source of passing time in these days. I’m a classical music lover, admire ghazals, qawwalis, folk music, and old English and Urdu songs.
2) Personal time with Yoga and meditation
Yoga and meditation are two things that can help us make a different person. With mediation and yoga, we can achieve different mood swings and can change our nature and behavior to a certain extent. Time with Yoga can certainly help us spend these days peacefully and with a quite divinity and spirituality. I have started some stretching exercises and yoga. It keeps me fresh and energized the entire day. I have suggested yoga to my husband and children too.
3) Enhancing your creativity with Cooking
What’s more, fun that having fun with your creativity and when the result comes out in the form of yummy dishes. We can try out new dishes and stuff to bring out our inner chef. This can be a fun task with our family. Like I tried a continental dish with the effort of my family. This can be a good hobby of passing time with quarantine days. When you prepare a new and delicious dish, it not only makes you satisfied and happy but the reflection of pleasure that you see on your family member’s faces boosts your happiness. Don’t you feel this?
4) Exploring the literary world with reading
In these boredom times, reading can be a good source of keeping yourself indulged and skipping the time. I am really used to this habit as this keeps me satisfied and calm. If I tell my opinion I really like emotional and fictional books. I would like to suggest some of my all-time favorite books which are- The angel of the dark by Sydney Sheldon, Only time will tell by Jeffery Archer, Scars if Betrayal by Sophia James, Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte. These are some of my all-time favorite which I think you should give it a try.
5) Bringing out the inner artist in you with sketching and painting
The painting which just means bringing out your inner thoughts inside you on a piece of canvas full of different colors. Try sketching your favorite thing or try making a landscape that gives you an expression of calmness whenever you look at it. You can try this habit with your kids which will make these boring days colorful and imaginary. My daughter loves painting in her childhood days. My sister who is an artist spends her time sketching and painting.
6) Blogging, Instagramming and TikTok
You are a blogger, this is the best time to write something useful for your readers. Articles that spread awareness, publish quick posts on Instagram. If you are a blogger or not, you can make some quick and funny videos for TikTok. I didn’t take this app seriously before but nowadays, it feels interesting. I have made some videos for it 🙂
These are some of the ways and habits which I would like to suggest these days. Although to be frank, with the entire family at home and no domestic help, you and I probably have a lot to do already but whenever you find time, pamper yourself and try something that you usually don’t. So, guys, that’s all. Stay at home and be safe!
Coming to my outfit:
This is yet another simple everyday outfit. The combination is classy and everybody loves red with denim even when it’s not Christmas! I styled a red sweatshirt with flared denims. But with the right accessories, even such a casual outfit can be made dressed up. I added some height with black heels because I love wearing flared jeans with heels. For the jewellery I went for a statement necklace which I think looks beautiful with the red. What do you think? Isn’t this an easy spring outfit?
